Xabier is a Director in Deloitte Legal’s UK Employment Law team. He advises employers on the full range of employment law issues across a variety of sectors.
Since joining Deloitte, Xabier has specialised in cross-border projects, for example helping clients to navigate the employment law landscape when expanding their businesses across multiple jurisdictions, or running multi-country restructuring exercises.
He frequently works with colleagues in mobility tax, corporate tax, global workforce consulting and immigration to deliver solutions to clients around international remote work scenarios and international secondment and assignment programmes.
Xabier has carried out secondments at a public sector financial institution and a private equity house and also worked as an in-house employment lawyer at a leading UK university.

- Advising clients on cross-border restructuring programmes, including coordinating employment law advice across multiple countries
- Advising clients on international remote work arrangements and alternative employment models
- Acting on a broad range of transactions for industry and private equity clients, including advising on due diligence (both buy-side and sell-side), sale documentation and post-completion workforce integration
- Advising on a wide range of day-to-day employment matters, including disciplinaries and grievances, trade union and employee representative arrangements, post-termination restrictions, sickness absence, family friendly leave and employee exits
