Mike is a Vice Chair and has been the lead audit partner on a number of our largest listed clients.
He has worked in the banking and capital markets industry for most of his career and has been the Chair of the ICAEW’s Banking Committee for over 9 years. He was a member of the ICAEW working party on two reports prepared following the financial crisis:
- “Audit of banks – lesson from the crisis” issued in June 2010,
- “Enhancing the dialogue between bank auditors and audit committees” issued in March 2013, and
- chaired the ICAEW’s committee that produced the technical release on “assurance reports on benchmarks and indices” in 2014.
He is a regular presenter at conferences and co-author of “Taxation and accounting for financial instruments” published by IFR.
He was appointed as the “Skilled Person”, approved by the PRA and FCA, reporting to the Court for the ring-fence transfer scheme of one of the UK’s largest banks.
Mike is a Fellow of the ICAEW and a fellow of the MCT.
