Karen Gainsford

Karen leads the Pension Risk Transfer team in the UK pensions practice of Deloitte, to help trustees and employers plan and implement securing member benefits through buy-ins, buyout and superfund transfers. She is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and has over 20 years’ experience. Karen has advised clients with schemes ranging in size from £1m to well over £1bn through all stages of their journey to buyout and winding-up, and in 2021 alone advised on bulk annuity transactions totalling over £3bn.
