It was fascinating to explore this topic at our networking evening on 23rd October with alumni Ryan Hopkins, Chief Impact Officer at JAAQ, and Arti Kashyap-Aynsley CPA CA, Global Head of Wellbeing and Inclusion at Ocado Group, on how companies can re-define wellbeing and what it means to thrive in the workplace.
Some key takeaways from the discussion included:
Wellbeing needs to be holistic (not just bikes, bananas, yoga and cake) and remember it’s the outcome of good work
Understand your workforce and identify their needs, interests, concerns and expectations – this will help identify the root causes of the drivers impacting their wellbeing
Inclusion, flexibility and belonging are the biggest drivers of wellbeing at work; organisations that prioritise these are more resilient and outperform the FTSE 100.
Measure the ROI of wellbeing interventions. Deloitte’s recent report on Mental Health in the Workplace shows that organisations can save £4.70 on every £1 invested in wellbeing.
Thank you to our host, James Owen Lewis our Global Human Sustainability Leader at Deloitte, who chaired this lively discussion.
