Danny Bridgeman
As the eldest of three boys, Danny has always felt a sense of responsibility to ensure he leads by example and makes an impact.
"I think my desire to always make a difference in whatever I do comes from a young age. Both the primary and secondary schools I attended were small and that provided me early opportunities to be a leader and make an impact."
“Having set out in the working world on a graduate scheme at a small boutique consultancy firm, I was desperate to get involved in larger projects in a variety of industries and that, for me, would offer more opportunities to give me a greater sense of pride and achievement.”
Joining Major Programmes has given Danny opportunity to do just that. “By being involved in Major Programmes, I know and feel that I am delivering impact in my role and the programmes I have worked on so far have given me a huge sense of purpose. I’m proud of what I have been involved with.”
Since joining Major Programmes Danny has had the opportunity to work on the NHS COVID Pass. “COVID was something that directly affected everyone, and I’ve gained a great sense of achievement from my involvement in such a critical programme that enabled the nation to move back towards normality. I’m also a huge sports fan, so having the chance to work with the Football Association and UK Sport to venture into the world of major events has been a real highlight.”
"I am passionate about realising a legacy through my work."
On his current engagement, Danny is working with UK & Ireland Football Associations and governments to create their legacy strategy for their bid to host UEFA EURO 2028. “This has really opened my eyes to some of the great work smaller organisations are doing to improve inequalities and tackle other social issues such physical and mental wellbeing. I feel extremely fortunate to be involved in planning how the potential of a huge profile event such as the EUROs can help deliver wider impact in tackling these issues and enabling football to better represent society.”
“In terms of my own attempt to do something purposeful, I annually take on the task of growing an embarrassing moustache and run 100km every November to raise funds for Movember. Not only does this raise awareness for men’s mental health – I really feel the benefits of getting outdoors and running has on me. Even if the weather tries its hardest to stop me!”
Danny has a vision for the future whereby everyone has equal opportunities, regardless of their socioeconomic background. “The work Major Programmes, and wider Deloitte, are doing to support this is significant and something that I’d like to see continuing to be at the centre of change. I am passionate about realising a legacy through my work and I’m now building expertise that will support me to engage in opportunities like this in future.”
