European Deloitte Health Institute (DHI)

Committed to health, equity and justice for all

Our purpose

The European Deloitte Health Institute (DHI) has been established to make a positive, enduring impact that matters. Health is a right, not a privilege, and we must change our approach to ensure healthcare is accessible to all.

To do this, we're creating cross-sector collaborations and tools aimed at addressing disparities in the health system.

Our ultimate goal is to contribute to a world in which all people have the opportunity to achieve their full potential in every aspect of their health and well-being.

Our commitment to take action

Deloitte is committed to taking action achieving health equity across our organisation, offerings, communities and eco-system globally and is proud to have signed the Zero Health Gap Pledge, launched by the Global Health Equity Network at the 2023 World Economic Forum Annual meeting in Davos. The DHI collaborates with the public, private charitable and voluntary sectors to advance our mission. These purpose-driven collaborations utilise three key levers: activating decision makers; advancing equitable communities; and driving innovation and learning.

  • World Economic Forum (WEF)

Convening leaders to prioritise health equity action as a core component across organisations and industries.

The Deloitte Health Equity Institute is collaborating with the World Economic Forum to develop the Global Health Equity Network and its focus on influencing how Fortune 500 companies think about - and act on - health equity. Deloitte is honoured to be one of 60+ signatories of the Zero Health Gaps Pledge, the first global, multi-sector, CEO-level pledge to help advance health equity. The DHEI will also work to create standards for health equity measurement and help to better embed health equity into ESG.

  • Mind & Scottish Association for Mental Health

Assisting organisations to comprehend the costs of inadequate mental health and optimise investments in their workforce.

Deloitte has collaborated with Mind and Scottish Association for Mental Health to create an interactive mental health cost calculator. By inputting their organisational data, employers can find out the cost of poor mental health in relation to absenteeism, presenteeism, and labour turnover, as well as compare their results against industry averages. Using these results, we encourage employers to consider a number of recommendations to invest in their employees' wellbeing and mental health.
