About the Academy

Stepping into a CIO role requires strong technology operators to shift their focus, and strengthen the soft skills required to become business influencers and catalysts of change. By examining the role of CIO through four fundamental faces, Deloitte’s Next Generation CIO Academy will explore how technology leaders can unlock the skills required to maximize IT value to their organization.

From influencing strategic decisions, creating enterprise value to building leadership confidence, CIOs today stand at the very center of enterprise transformation and creation of value. The Mission of the Deloitte Next Generation CIO Academy is to prepare technology Leaders for the four faces of the CIO: Technologist, Catalyst of change, business Strategist, and effective Operator.

CIOs hold some of the most challenging roles in business today, with responsibilities for creating value that extend far beyond traditional information technology support and delivery. The CIO’s role has shifted from being a steward of technology to a partner in shaping the future of the business.

As technology leaders, CIOs with vision, communication skills, and relationships are well-positioned to command more influence and help their organisations thrive.

To adapt to these uncertain times, Deloitte’s CIO Program is offering a dynamic, exclusive leadership development opportunity, the Next Generation CIO Academy, to help technology leaders think through how they personally navigate today’s challenges.

Over two intensive days, a select cohort of Next Generation IT Leaders will learn directly from seasoned CIOs, as well as Deloitte leaders and subject matter experts, gaining practical insights into:

Emerging technology trends and economic headwinds shaping the CIO agenda
The expanding scope and complexity of the CIO role
The behaviours and leadership qualities expected of model CIOs
The challenges of guiding organisations through heightened scrutiny and change

Is the Academy virtual or in-person?

Academies in APAC are held at Deloitte University Asia Pacific, our premier leadership development facility located at Sofitel Hotel Sentosa, Singapore. The Academy typically launches with a short virtual session on Zoom a few days prior to participants arriving at Deloitte University.
