The Technology Fast 50

Each year, the Technology Fast 50 recognizes the fifty fastest-growing technology companies in the Netherlands. The winner is determined based on percentage revenue growth over the past four years and recognized for their exceptional growth performance. Given their significant role as drivers of future growth, all of these companies deserve special recognition and support.

On top there is two additional awards for our Technology Fast 50 nominees:

  • Diverse & Inclusive Leadership Award: This award recognizes companies that embed diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) at the core of their culture. It's not just about ticking boxes; it's about creating thriving teams through sustained inclusive leadership. A panel of DE&I specialists have evaluated nominees who lead in diverse practices.
  • Sustainability Pioneer Award: This award honors scale-ups making significant impacts on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By addressing vital issues like climate change, these companies drive progress with innovative solutions. The most impactful business model, as determined by the jury, will be celebrated.

Your battery with 50% more energy.

LeydenJar develops pure-silicon anode foil for lithium-ion batteries using a proprietary Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition (PECVD) roll-to-roll process. This innovation enables higher energy density and lower carbon footprint batteries compared to batteries with graphite-based anodes. By replacing graphite (which comes almost entirely from China) with silicon (Earth’s second most abundant element), LeydenJar supports EU strategic autonomy in advanced materials and sustainable mobility.

In addition to the main prize, we also give recognition to 10 companies with our Rising Star award. This award is for companies that have been in business for less than four years and show great growth potential. We see lots of potential and thus support these emerging stars whilst they reshape the future of technology in the Netherlands.

eyeo is a deep-tech startup that has invented a new kind of image sensor, the component that captures pictures and videos in every camera, from smartphones to surgical devices to smart city cameras to autonomous vehicles. Today's cameras waste 70% of the light that enters the lens, because of a color filtering technology that has not fundamentally changed since the 1970s. eyeo has replaced that filter with color-splitting nanostructures, smaller than a wavelength of light, that sort and direct photons by color instead of filtering them out. As a result, eyeo's sensors capture three times more light, producing dramatically better image quality even in low-light conditions. eyeo designs and manufactures these sensors, and has raised €55 million from investors to bring them to market.
