With Deloitte's annual Technology Fast 50 competition we put the spotlight on tech start-ups and scale-ups that are making their mark in the Netherlands. The Technology Fast 50 award is aimed at recognising innovative technology companies that disrupt the technology industry. In our 25th anniversary year, the Technology Fast 50 introduces three new awards next to the Technology Fast 50 and the Rising Star award. We are pleased to introduce the Deep-Tech, Diversity in Leadership and Sustainability Pioneer awards.

EMEA Fast 500

Tech companies, scale-ups and start-ups that enter the Technology Fast 50 competition automatically enter the EMEA Fast 500: the global survey of the 500 fastest tech growth companies in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Inclusion in the rankings is a great way to get extra attention from the press, customers, suppliers, investors and talent, both nationally and globally.

How to join the program

To join the Technology Fast 50 program, your company must meet certain criteria. Read below what participation criteria there are for the Fast 50 and the Rising Star competition. 

The eligibility criteria

To enter the Fast 50 or Rising Star category companies must meet the following criteria:

Considered a technology company that generates a significant portion (> 50%) of its operating revenue from the sale of products, services and/or licenses that are based on its own proprietary technology or technology related products.

Founded in the Netherlands and with the headquarters in the Netherlands.

Public or private and active in one of these nine industries:

• Communications & Networking
• Digital Commerce
• Electronic Devices, Hardware and Semiconductor
• Enterprise Software
• FinTech
• Life Sciences & Health Care
• Media & Entertainment
• Mobility

Technology Fast 50

Been in business a minimum of 4 years.

Have base-year operating revenues of at least €50,000 in year 1 and €1,000,000 in year 4

Rising Star

Been in business for less than 4 years.

Have base-year operating revenues of at least €50,000 over the last 12 months, or in the current year if the company was established less than twelve months ago

Deep Tech

In addition to the Fast 50 prize, we also give recognition to 10 companies with our Deep Tech award. The tech companies are judged by a panel of independent experts on ambition, revenue potential, degree of innovation and scalability. 

Diverse and Inclusive leadership award

This award recognizes companies that embed diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) at the core of their culture. It's not just about ticking boxes; it's about creating thriving teams through sustained inclusive leadership. A panel of DE&I specialists have evaluated nominees who lead in diverse practices.

Sustainability Pioneer award

This award honors scale-ups making significant impacts on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By addressing vital issues like climate change, these companies drive progress with innovative solutions. The most impactful business model, as determined by the jury, will be celebrated.

To be considered for the Fast 50 programme, all applicants must go through the application process.
