Cloud HCM technology has rapidly become the foundation for a modern HR department. As shown by the fact that most Fortune 500 companies are in-progress or have already transitioned to a Core HR Cloud platform. Despite this, only 6% of organisations rate their HR technology as excellent.

Deloitte has observed three consistent themes that contribute to this gap between HR technology spend and the achievement of better outcomes in the context of Cloud HCM technology:

  • Incomplete Adoption of Cloud HCM Technology: Many organisations struggle to fully adopt and integrate Cloud HCM technology into their operations. This can be due to a lack of organisational readiness or inadequate support for technology adoption. As a result, organisations may not fully realise the potential benefits of their technology investments.
  • Limited Focus on Business Outcomes: HR technology investments such as AI or RPA are often focused on addressing HR processes, rather than driving better business outcomes. This narrow focus on HR processes can result in missed opportunities to leverage Cloud HCM technology to improve productivity, efficiency, and business outcomes.
  • Inadequate Attention to the User Experience: While Cloud HCM technology can automate and streamline processes, it can also create a sense of disconnection between employees and their organisations. This can lead to a decline in user engagement, productivity, and retention. Organisations need to focus on the user experience to fully realize the benefits of their technology investments.

To bridge the gap between Cloud HCM spend and satisfaction, organisations need to focus on fully adopting and integrating Cloud HCM technology into their operations, while also prioritising the user experience and business outcomes.

By optimising these themes, organisations can unlock the full potential of their technology investments, improve efficiency, productivity, and business outcomes, and achieve a competitive advantage in the modern world of work.
