The Future Pensions Act: one size does not fit all
On 1 July next, the new pension law goes into effect. Robert Collignon, Director at Deloitte Consulting, together with our guests, pension experts Pauline Derkman (Managing Director Workplace Solutions, Aegon Netherlands) and Annemieke Visser-Brons (Chief Commercial Officer Athora NL/Zwitserleven) will discuss the changes in the Dutch pension market. How do both insurers respond to the looming pension gap caused by the unchanged premium tier? Will there be a revival in the pension market for the self-employed? And: how will they deal with data quality in the organisation? These and other pressing questions are addressed below.
Impact of IDD Delegated Acts on product development, data management and customer communication
The European Commission sees the insurance sector as an important player in the transition to a sustainable society. As a result, many new regulations have been developed for the sector, including the IDD Delegated Acts. This is intended to promote the sustainability of insurance products. Together with our guests, Harold Mahadew and Bas van der Wal, we talk about this legislation. Harold is Distribution & InsurTech Lead at the Dutch Association of Insurers, Bas is Regulatory Legal Counsel at ASR Nederland N.V. What impact does the new regulations have on their organisations? Will ESG performance become a differentiator for insurers? And what challenges and expectations have they got for the future?
Digitisation of customer contact in the insurance sector
Together with our guests, Brigitte Arts and Rikkert van Capelleveen, we talk about developments and trends in customer contact in this Insurance Outlook Dialogue. Brigitte is Senior Manager Customer Contact & claims handling Retail Claims and Care at NN, Rikkert is Data & Digital Officer at Achmea. What do they think technology and data mean for customers and workforce? But also: which channels are most suitable for customer contact in which situation? And, last but not least: how can we turn customer contact from a cost centre to a value centre?
The increasing needs in the insurance market
Together with our guests, Ingrid de Swart and Lidwien Suur, we talk about the social responsibility of insurers in the third Insurance Outlook Dialogue. Do they see themselves as social enterprises serving society, or are shareholders still leading the way? Has confidence in insurers increased because of COVID-19? How do insurers see sustainability goals? What role do they play in 'uninsurable' events? Should they be more generous and actively cooperate in making such cases insurable? And: is the Dutch insurance system sufficiently robust for long-term risks such as climate change and floods?

The Benefits of Technology and Prevention
Ten years ago, digitisation barely played a role in the world of non-life insurers. Now, customers can arrange just about everything around claims via their smartphones. This has far-reaching consequences. For instance, how afraid should non-life insurers be of insurtechs? How do they deal with the ethics of data? What role do they see for themselves in terms of Sustainability? We put these - and more - questions to Maurice Koopman (CEO NN Schade & Inkomen) and Albert Spijkman (Division Chairman Centraal Beheer/Achmea) in the second interview.
New opportunities for insurers
After ten years of consultations, a lot is going to change in the pension sector. We discuss this with Wim Hekstra (COO, Aegon Netherlands) and Hans Visser (General Manager Pension, Zwitserleven). What challenges and opportunities do the upcoming changes present for insurers? What role should employers and social partners play? How will pension communication change and is there a market for additional services? In addition, we talk about sustainable investing. A healthy world is important for everyone, but for globally operating financial institutions, there are quite a few snags to a truly sustainable policy. How do Hans and Wim see this?
