Gianluca Busuttil

Senior Manager - Tax - Deloitte Malta

Gianluca is a warranted lawyer forming part of the Tax team at Deloitte Malta, having also completed the Malta Institute of Taxation’s Course on Taxation. His main areas of specialisation are gambling law, AML/CFT law, commercial and corporate law, insolvency law, and data privacy law. Before joining Deloitte Malta in 2019, Gianluca worked at a traditional Maltese law firm for four years.

Since joining Deloitte, Gianluca has provided regulatory advice on a number of high-profile client engagements, including the formulation of regulatory policy and related work in the fields of corporate and insolvency law, and AML/CFT regulation as specifically applicable to gaming operators.

Elena Grima Tortell

Senior Manager - Tax - Deloitte Malta

Elena is a Senior Manager within the Business Tax team at Deloitte in Malta. She joined Deloitte on a full time basis in 2017, having previously been enrolled in the Deloitte Malta Summer Student Programme in 2013. She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws Honours (LLB. (Hons.) in 2016 and subsequently with a Masters of Advocacy (M.Adv.) in 2017. Elena has been admitted to the Bar of Malta and the Superior Courts of Malta and has graduated with a Masters of Law (LLM) specialising in Corporate and Securities Law, having studied with the University of London.

Within the Business Tax team, Elena's primary area of focus consists of the provision of advisory services on both the tax and corporate implications of domestic and cross-border corporate transactions, with specific focus on group restructuring, transfer of assets, and the use of trusts as a form of asset management vehicle.
