Malta, 3 June 2025 — Deloitte Malta is pleased to announce the appointment of four new directors, effective 1 June 2025. This strategic move underscores our commitment to growth, innovation, and excellence in delivering unparalleled services to our clients.
The newly appointed directors are Timothy Borg Olivier, Karen Cuschieri, Sandro Psaila, and Mark Dalli.
Timothy joined Deloitte Malta’s Pathway Programme in 2013. Upon completion of the programme and having successfully graduated as a Doctor of Laws from the University of Malta, Timothy attended the International Tax Center, University of Leiden, where he undertook and eventually graduated cum laude from an Advanced Masters in International Taxation. Upon his return to Malta in January 2016, he commenced his full-time career within the Tax practice at Deloitte Malta, specifically focusing on international tax advisory work.
Karen joined Deloitte Malta in November 2019 and leads the Technology Strategy & Transformation team, delivering a wide range of services in relation to the management of digital and business projects, definition and implementation of transformation roadmaps as well as management of M&A transactions and post-merger integration. Karen has over 20 years’ experience in project management and transformation, managing the delivery of large-scale business and digital transformation projects across various industries primarily in the UK, including financial services, public sector, policy and accreditation, private commercial, and health.
Sandro is a Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence (CSAI) graduate and has been a Certified Information Systems Auditor since 2007. With 20 years’ experience in IT audit, information security, and revenue assurance, he joined Deloitte Malta in 2016, where he leads the IT Audit work in support of statutory audits for national and international entities. His areas of expertise include online gaming and financial services. Sandro also leads the Deloitte Malta’s approach to IT audit quality and is responsible for technology-related third-party assurance engagements under the ISAE 3402/ISAE 3000 framework and regulatory compliance engagements. He has authored papers on auditing innovative technologies, including AI and DLT. Sandro represents Deloitte Malta at the Malta Institute of Accountants (MIA) Digital Committee and Deloitte’s AI & Algorithm Assurance Groups. Sandro is also a visiting lecturer at the University of Malta's Centre for Distributed Ledger Technologies.
Mark joined the Business Process Solutions department at Deloitte Malta in 2024. He brings with him 15 years’ experience in audit overseeing engagements for several companies and groups. During this time, he acquired strong knowledge of different financial reporting frameworks and their application across several industries including funds, real estate, corporate, as well as gaming and technology entities. His experience also provided him with insights into the various underlying operations and control structures within various industries. Through this, Mark has developed a keen interest in the application of technology and AI tools to facilitate different processes and control structures within the finance function.
