Much as Deloitte aspires to lead the way in our profession, India aspires to lead the pack of fast-developing nations. And a lot has been written about our demographic dividend, the vast pool of young talent waiting to unleash their potential.
This talent isn’t confined to our metros. Our country’s heartland is brimming with the ambition and passion… and we’re going to be the bridge.
Through an initiative called Heartland…
We’re creating opportunities in Deloitte for deserving candidates from geographies not usually in the spotlight, through multiple pathways:
Talent coming onboard through Heartland get to hone their skills through a three-month internship, following which they take up full-time roles.
Catalysing their smooth transition into our impactful world is a campus to corporate programme designed to guide them with business communication and etiquette, behavioural training, as well as to bolster their capabilities through an individual development plan.
Bipra comes from a remote village in Tripura called Mashauli. Up until grade 8, he went to the village school and also helped out his father on the farm. The dream of a better future took him to the state capital, Agartala. But it was an uphill journey, with Bipra even having to take up part-time jobs to support his education. He persevered with the support of well-wishers. A bright future knocked at his door in the form of a two-month cybersecurity training which led to an internship with Deloitte as part of the Heartland programme.
Jayalani grew up in the quaint town of Thiruvarur, Tamil Nadu with big dreams and a determination to succeed. She was the first in her family to graduate from college with an ambition to make a difference in the world. When Deloitte visited her campus as part of the Heartland programme, she finally found her launchpad. She went on to join the organisation full-time, working on multiple projects to drive meaningful change, and even mentored other interns.
