What excites the most to Rahul about AI is its ability to collapse the gap between imagination and execution.

Can you share the most interesting part of your career journey?

Being a part of the innovation team, the most rewarding aspect of my journey has been architecting large-scale transformation initiatives. From spotting white spaces and funding bold ideas to commercialising assets and driving adoption, I’ve worked across the full life cycle of innovation. For me, innovation is less about predicting the future and more about building it. What excites me the most is nurturing “moonshot” ideas that may start as sketches on a whiteboard but can grow into million-dollar businesses. As data flows through every industry, the canvas we work on is limitless. It has given me a panoramic view of how different businesses operate, evolve and reimagine themselves.

What excites you the most about working with data and AI?

AI excites me because it collapses the gap between imagination and execution. What motivates me is the ability to take something abstract, such as an idea, a dataset or an untapped trend, and speedily transform it into a scalable product that creates measurable business value. My role is to connect ambition with execution: identifying ideas that align with strategic priorities and scaling them into solutions with longevity, adoption and impact. Generative AI, in particular, has opened new horizons for agentic applications that can act autonomously, creating non-linear growth. The thrill of searching for the next breakthrough keeps me energised every day.

Describe an interesting project that you have worked on.

Building custom Generative AI applications tailored to Deloitte India’s diverse service areas by our Digital Excellence Centre has been an exciting project. These “custom GPTs” were designed to adapt to the unique needs of consultants across functions, such as risk advisory, audit, strategy, forensics and consulting. For example, these accelerate due diligence by analysing vast datasets in transactions, strengthen decision-making in consulting by stress-testing scenarios, support audit and assurance with intelligent document reviews and research capabilities and even help risk teams spot anomalies faster. The real breakthrough was not in building the tool but in enabling a flexible framework where different functions could have their own GenAI chatbots fine-tuned to their workflows. The real promise of AI is not just in building smarter tools but in creating entire ecosystems of intelligence. This project reinforced how AI and data can become horizontal enablers, transforming how we work across the firm rather than in silos. It was a powerful reminder that the future of consulting lies in combining domain expertise with scalable and intelligent technology.
