This experience has also coincided with the rise of Gen AI, and I’ve been fortunate to be part of a team driving innovation in this space. The learning curve has been steep and highly rewarding, with each project presenting unique challenges—from streamlining malaria prevention planning for a global nonprofit to using Gen AI-generated jewellery designs to enhance customer experiences for a US-based manufacturer.
I’m excited by the vast potential that data and AI hold in solving real-world problems. Whether improving health care outcomes, optimising supply chains, or enhancing customer experiences, data and AI can drive measurable impact. We are only scratching the surface of what’s possible, and the chance to be part of a field where innovation can directly translate into tangible benefits for society motivates me.
One of my most challenging projects was leading the development of a Gen AI-powered knowledge management solution for the R&D team of a leading Indian tyre manufacturer.
This proof of concept was their first Gen AI initiative and addressed a critical business challenge in the tyre industry. R&D teams had to manually read through various engineering documents and understand tyre standards and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, uphold safety standards, maintain high quality and performance, and drive innovation. The process was time-consuming and error-prone.
My team developed a state-of-the-art Gen AI tool that significantly reduced the time required to search and retrieve key information from 100+ technical documents. By employing advanced prompt engineering techniques and chunking strategies, we delivered a highly accurate and versatile solution for different personas in the R&D team. The solution boosted R&D productivity, sped up the innovation process, and ultimately enabled faster product launches, driving overall business growth.
