How we help you succeed

We provide high-quality learning and support programmes, ensuring you have the knowledge and skills you need to gain success in your exams and advance your career.

Our Learning Pathways provide planned learning interventions at each stage of an individual’s career:

Career pathways set out the expected progression path from associate to partner
Development pathways show the shifting emphasis on the shared competency areas, as you develop your career at Deloitte
Learning pathways focus on integrated professional and technical training programmes, designed to map key learning and support programmes to each stage of your career. Examples of these programmes include: Professional skills courses, accredited management development, leadership development and E-Learning certified by Harvard University.

Exam supports

As a Deloitte Graduate, you will have to adjust to working in a busy, professional office environment during the day and revert to the role of student in the evenings and at weekends (as well as finding time for a social life!). We are aware that these conflicting demands can be difficult so, as part of the Future Leaders Academy, we provide students with every opportunity to keep us up-to-date with their progression.

Through a variety of communication processes - formal and informal - we listen to students individually and in groups so that our Partners, Managers, dedicated Professional Education, People & Purpose, and Learning & Development teams can respond, giving
you as much guidance and support as you need.

Financial support

When you join Deloitte as an Associate, the firm pays for your student registration fee, for all exemption entitlements, and for your first-time course and examination entry fees.

In addition, we offer financial support in the form of up-front sponsorship for students wishing to complete an institute-recognised Masters in Accounting or Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting.

Study leave

We offer substantial periods of paid study leave based on the type of training contract you are completing, or the course of study being undertaken. The amount of leave offered is in line with recommendations made by the relevant professional bodies.

To accommodate you further, banks of overtime worked during the busy season may also be taken at this stage, or time borrowed from the firm depending on your circumstances.

Study support

Deloitte Professional Education Exam Support Programme includes both live classroom and virtual workshops that include a host of topics such as introductory exam sessions, subject-specific revision, and exam preparation. In addition, we offer on-demand learning that enables you to study at a pace to suit your own needs. Sessions are facilitated by external Professional lecturers, our own Deloitte professionals, and students with recent knowledge of the exams who recount their experience of particular papers.

The sessions are held both virtually and in our Deloitte Academy, which provides a supportive environment in which you can learn from each other and ask questions relating to the exam you are about to sit. Students occasionally find themselves in situations where counselling and support meetings are appropriate. Our team is always happy to provide this at any stage.

Career progression

Roles and responsibilities in Deloitte are structured to allow graduates to gain a wide range of experience, progressing through the grades as quickly as possible. Some graduates progress to the Assistant Manager level after completing their qualifications. Others choose to stay working in practice, continuing with their specialisation.

Some join Deloitte clients whom they worked with during their contract, taking up positions as financial controllers or tax advisors, sometimes working their way up to the CXO level. Others transfer internally to experience other areas of interest, often continuing their studies.

We also love welcoming back former associates who rejoin Deloitte having taken a year or two out to travel the world!
