Anya Cummins, M&A Partner, commented:

We are delighted to be recognised as the leading financial advisor (#1) for M&A activity in Ireland for the second year in a row. Deloitte has the largest dedicated M&A team in Ireland and this year has been an incredibly busy year for the team with a number of landmark, cross-border and private equity transactions, despite unprecedented market volatility. Our Financial Advisory team has closed over 55 deals with an aggregate value of €4.2 billion and our M&A team have been recognised for advising on 36 sellside and buyside transactions this year. The second half of 2022 has seen market headwinds and a few more uncertainties such as interest rates starting to increase and inflation impacted on costs. However, we are still seeing the quality businesses being competed for strongly, with financial services, TMT, energy and life sciences all particularly active sectors. This accolade reflects our continued success in delivering international reach, sector experience, and client focus.

Jan Fitzell, M&A Partner, commented:

This recognition is testament to our deal teams on the ground and the quality of transactions we’ve been able to close for our clients over what has been a busy 2022. There are a number of key differentiators which we believe set us apart from our peers in the Irish market, including a truly diverse team, integrated multidisciplinary services and experience in complex deals and cross-Border transactions. We are delighted to say that the team remains exceptionally busy with a strong pipeline of transactions for 2023.
