In 2025, artificial intelligence has already become an integral part of the everyday operations of Hungarian companies.

The State of AI Hungary 2025 study, conducted with input from more than 100 domestic organizations, highlights that the vast majority of respondents are no longer experimenting with AI, but are consciously embedding it into their business processes.

The figures clearly illustrate where Hungary stands today in terms of AI integration and governance.

The purpose of the study was to provide a comprehensive overview of Hungarian companies’ attitudes toward, readiness for, and challenges with artificial intelligence. Deloitte examined the current state of AI strategy, governance, education, and compliance, surveying over 100 Hungarian organizations.

21% of respondents already operate with a standalone AI strategy, while 25% are currently developing one. This indicates that an increasing number of companies are treating AI as a long-term, strategic investment rather than merely a technological experiment.

AI governance refers to the transparent, ethical, and lawful management of AI development and applications. According to the study, most organizations place less emphasis on establishing AI governance processes, even though these are crucial for managing risks (data protection, ethics, compliance) and building trust.

AI literacy encompasses the fundamental knowledge and skills related to artificial intelligence that enable its ethical and safe use. According to the study, 21% of companies do not yet provide any AI awareness training, even though this will soon become a compliance requirement under the EU AI Act.

It refers to an AI system capable of making independent decisions, pursuing goals, and initiating interactions without human intervention. These AI agents can proactively perform tasks and adapt to their environment.

According to Deloitte experts, the key to success lies in a deliberate strategy, effective risk management, and the development of internal competencies. AI should be treated not as a separate project but as an integral part of corporate culture and operations, guided by the principles of responsible innovation.
