Gregory Verpoorten is part of Deloitte Tax LLP’s global Value Added Tax (VAT) Services group. Gregory is responsible for the group’s VAT Data Analytics and Global VAT Compliance offerings geared towards US multinational clients.
Gregory started his VAT career in Belgium over eleven years ago and was part of the VAT practice of the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Ltd. (DTTL) Member Firm in Belgium until 2008, when he moved to the US. He has extensive experience serving US-headquartered clients in the Technology, Media & Telecommunications, Consumer Business, and Life Sciences & Health Care industries. Gregory assists US businesses with tailoring their global VAT function to enable efficient VAT compliance, adopt consistent and lean processes, and introduce appropriate technology to manage VAT smoothly on a global scale.
As the global VAT Data Analytics initiative lead, Gregory leads a team of VAT professionals from various DTTL Member Firms globally who are continuously developing the capabilities and value drivers of the VAT Data Analytics offering.
Gregory earned a Master’s degree in law from the University of Antwerp and is a UK Chartered Tax Adviser. He is a regular speaker on global VAT management to both internal and external audiences.
