Nikolaas is the Chair of the Belgian Partnership Council and Deloitte Belgium since FY21, member of the Deloitte North South Europe Board and Global Board since June 23.

Prior to this, he was part of the BE Executive (FY13-16 and FY17-FY20), BE Accountancy (Integrated Services) Managing Partner (FY13-16 and FY17-FY20) and BE Private Managing Partner (FY17-FY20), as well as member of the NSE and Global Private Executive (FY17-FY20).

With 30 years of experience as a practicing accountancy partner, Nikolaas is also engagement partner for several Diamond Private clients in Belgium, focusing on financial and operational reporting and planning, financial performance analysis, strategic decision making, and outlining the continuity of management and shareholding for family-owned and PE-backed companies.

Nikolaas was the founder of the Best Managed Companies and Technology Fast 50 programs in Belgium, has previously led the End-to-End M&A MDM platform and is leading the BE Boardroom and Chair of the Future programs.

Nikolaas graduated with a degree of Master Applied Economic Sciences (1989) and Doctoral Program Applied Economic Sciences (1991) and is a certified Tax Accountant ITAA as of 2000.

Nikolaas lives in Wetteren (Belgium), is married, enjoys playing golf, running and travelling and is passionate about (geo-)political history, modern art and ornithology.
