AI Transformation: AI agents save companies time, money, and human resources

Artificial intelligence today is not just a technological trend, but a fundamental transformational opportunity that can change the functioning of companies across industries. AI agents can handle routine administration, free up employee capacity for more demanding tasks and of course also reduce costs. Get acquainted with examples of three organizations, for whom AI agents, created by experts from Deloitte, help in practice and bring them relevant results.

AI transformation is a process towards which most companies and organizations are heading or will be heading in the coming years. The key to the success of such a transformation lies mainly in understanding that it is not just about technology itself – the creation of an AI agent itself is a matter of a few days –, but that it is about the overall transformation of company processes. Most of the work on the project involves detailed mapping of company processes, change management and engagement and training of employees.

And what exactly can AI agents help with? They are most often used for intelligent automation, data analysis, report creation, planning, improving customer service, risk management and , HR complianceagenda and many other activities.

In AI transformation, it is crucial first to understand how all processes work in the company, and second to approach the project as a complex strategic change. This means that it is not enough to address only the technical side, but changes must affect the entire company's operations. A big mistake would be to consider the deployment of AI agents as an IT project.

The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) needed not only to reduce the administrative burden on its employees, but also to streamline work with a large amount of documents and preparation of materials, align national and regional plans with UNHCR's global mission and donor requirements and last but not least eliminate discrepancies in internal guidelines and instructions. Employees thus have more time for what is essential: humanitarian aid to people directly in the field. At the same time, AI agents managed during major budget cuts, which resulted in the dismissal of about four thousand zemích světaworkers, to take over the work of two thousand of them.

Example no. 2: Sanofi – replacement of three systems and billion-dollar savings

The French pharmaceutical group Sanofi decided on a significant step: to replace three key systems – ServiceNow, Salesforce and Coupa – with AI and at the same time end cooperation with an outsourcing partner. The team from Deloitte was thus tasked with creating AI agents who directly communicate with employees, ensure purchasing processes, evaluate suppliers and approve orders. An important part was also training employees from the areas of business, procurement, finance and digital team, so that they could work with the new technological solution. The goal of the project is to achieve total savings of 1.3 billion euros over five years.

Example no. 3: EnBW – 50% of PC activities taken over by AI

The German energy company EnBW is currently implementing a three-year transformation project with the help of Deloitte, aiming to transfer up to 50% of work performed on computers to AI agents. They assist not only with regulatory reporting but also with marketing and campaign preparation. AI addresses the long-term capacity shortage and increases the quality of outputs.
