EMMA Capital acquires Urion

The Czech investment group continues its acquisitions of healthcare distributors in the Balkans.

EMMA Capital, a Czech investment group, has acquired a 65% stake in Urion, a Montenegrin distributor of medical devices and pharmaceuticals. This move expands its network of distributors in Southeast Europe. Urion has cooperated with global manufacturers such as Johnson & Johnson, Siemens Healthineers, and Canon. In 2024, Urion recorded double-digit growth, with revenues of 13,1 million euros and a profit of 2.8 million euros.

The investment group EMMA Capital, founded by Jiří Šmejc, manages assets worth 2.4 billion euro. Beyond the Czech Republic, it focuses mainly on Southeast European markets and invests in e-commerce, gaming, and energy. In 2024, the group’s total revenues reached 2,1 billion euros, with a net profit of 14,5 million euros.

In the healthcare sector, EMMA Capital holds majority stakes in the Czech assisted reproduction center EUROPE IVF, the Greek pharmaceutical distributor Profarm Group, and, since last year, the Serbian company Magna Pharmica, which specializes in the distribution of medical equipment.
