CREDITAS Group has completed the acquisition of the MeDirect banking group. The third-largest Maltese bank, with over 35,000 customers in 2013, expanded as a fully digital bank into Belgium, where it has gained over 120,000 customers. Following the acquisition, MeDirect will become a subsidiary of CREDITAS Bank, while retaining its own brand and continuing to manage assets worth nearly €2 billion. The transaction value has not been disclosed by either party.
In 2024, Creditas merged with the former Max Bank. After the merger, it had 250,000 customers in the Czech Republic, a total balance sheet of CZK 189 billion, and a net profit of CZK 726 million. In addition to banking, the Creditas Group focuses in the Czech Republic on the energy and real estate sectors. Its company CREDITAS Mobility has entered Austria, while its energy division UCED has been operating in Poland and Slovakia since last year. CREDITAS Group aims to continue strengthening its international presence and expand into additional European countries in the long term.
