Two funds wrapped up UNIPAP

Czech private equity funds MAM and BHS have acquired the industrial paper packaging manufacturer.

The Belgian group Van de Velde Packaging is selling UNIPAP after three years. The company will be split evenly between BHS Private Equity Fund and MAM Private Equity Fund. The Pardubice-based business employs 140 people and last year generated nearly CZK 550 million in revenue from corrugated cardboard packaging for more than dozen industries with EBITDA amounting to CZK 90 million. The exact transaction price has not been disclosed, and completion is subject to approval by the Office for the Protection of Competition.

The MAM Private Equity sub-fund has been active on the market for 2.5 years. It manages assets worth CZK 440 million and holds stakes in companies such as RAYCOM and Telco VNT (focused on IT infrastructure) or COMGUARD (cybersecurity).

BHS Private Equity Fund, advised by Versute Investments, manages assets worth CZK 1.5 billion. It focuses on small and medium-sized enterprises in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and holds stakes, among others, in the metallurgical company Gevorkyan and parcel locker manufacturer ALFA 3.
