TMT Highlights Czech Republic 2026

Continuation of TMT trends or how AI is changing the everyday lives of Czechs

Artificial intelligence is becoming a common part of the digital life of the Czech population. Czechs use it when searching for information, working, studying and making everyday decisions. However, as adoption grows, so does the emphasis on trust, safety and the practical benefits of technology.

Key findings

AI is used by the majority of the Czech population

78% of Czechs use AI at least occasionally, which is more than three times more than in 2023. At the same time, the proportion of those who use AI on a daily basis is growing, with people aged 25-35 being the most active. Gender change is also an interesting shift – more women than men now report actively using AI.

AI is moving from experiments to practical use

Czechs use AI primarily for information searching, explaining topics, work tasks, and decision-making support. Technology is becoming a natural part of everyday digital habits.

Trust in AI remains limited

Only a minority of users trust AI outputs without verification, most often young people aged 15-17. The most common concerns relate to misinformation, inaccuracies and the protection of personal data.

People evaluate technology pragmatically

It is not the innovation itself that is decisive, but the concrete contribution in everyday life – time savings, simplicity and a better user experience.

„Czech consumers are not closed to modern technologies and AI, but they approach them very rationally. The decisive factor is whether they will bring them real benefits in everyday life, whether it is saving time, simplifying routine activities or better orientation in information. At the same time, ease of use and trust in how technology works are key for them. If they meet these conditions, they are willing to accept them relatively quickly and incorporate them into their normal habits.

From Google to AI chatbots

The way people search for information is undergoing a significant transformation. Although traditional search engines hold a dominant position, an increasing number of users are using AI chatbots or social platforms. For younger users today, AI is often the first step in finding information, recommendations, or explanations on topics.

What about trust and security risks?

„Trust in artificial intelligence today does not automatically grow at the same pace as its use, but this is a natural manifestation of the maturation of technology. Users are beginning to realize its limits – from inaccuracies in outputs to risks associated with disinformation or data protection. In the future, not only the technological maturity of AI will be crucial, but above all building transparency, accountability and trust in its use.

The digital environment is becoming increasingly complex, and security risks are also increasing as online activity increases. The results of the survey show that the experience of online fraud or disinformation is very widespread among the Czech population today. Almost three-quarters of respondents said that they had encountered an attempt at digital fraud in the last year, most often people aged 25-35.

At the same time, significant differences between generations suggest that the ability to recognise fraudulent behaviour and navigate the digital environment remains uneven. Digital literacy, critical evaluation of information and trust in online technologies are therefore gaining increasing importance.
