Deloitte launches CLO programme globally to help general counsel elevate their roles

The Chief Legal Officer (“CLO”) Programme joins Deloitte’s Global Executive Programme C-Suite offerings and its launch is the latest step in support of Deloitte's expansion as one of the world’s largest providers of legal and related legal business and management consulting services - a global service footprint that spans more than 75 countries.

Through the global CLO Programme’s suite of offerings, CLOs will be given the opportunity to immerse themselves and their teams in training, learning and research reflective of Deloitte's deep role-based and industry knowledge and its breadth of technical capabilities - all specifically designed and focused through the lens of the CLO and tailored to the context of local and regional business practices and regulatory frameworks.

The global CLO Programme will build on Deloitte's existing US CLO Programme, established in 2015. “The US CLO Programme team is excited to serve as the model for our colleagues globally and to use our experience to support the expansion of this impactful and successful programme across several international geographies,” says Don Fancher, Deloitte US CLO Programme Leader, “Growing the international scope of the programme will allow us to continue to support clients in the legal executive role”.

Leveraging US experience, the first initiative of the Global CLO Programme is the launch of the EMEA Next Generation CLO Academy in Milan (Italy) in May 2023. Select aspiring GCs and CLOs have been invited to join a unique experience focused on leadership, self-reflection and the opportunity to build an exclusive peer network - all designed to equip attendees to successfully step into the CLO role.
