Intelligent supply chain strategies to increase effectiveness and efficiency

Can you really achieve more whilst cutting back?

Organisations are increasingly facing into the ‘act-now’ necessity of transforming their supply chain. We are working with Australian supply-chain executives, taking them through a simple three-step approach to help guide the digital supply chain transformation journey.

But how can it be so simple, and what does that look like?

  • First, we plan with you to define and prioritise the capabilities necessary for success using our strategic choice cascade methodology (see Figure 1), which will be adapted to your business and supply chain context. Responses from the strategic choice cascade will be synthesised to shape initiatives in a roadmap to align the supply chain with the future digital network.
  • Next, we execute pilot deployments to identify immediate pain points, these allow for flexible shifts in direction to ensure we establish a foundation for sustainable value generation. This will be in the form of digital threads, developed and piloted to establish how a series of interconnected capabilities can be digitally enabled, generating momentum and building an understanding of the value of digital supply networks.
  • Finally, we scale up these solutions to form the foundation for a stronger, more resilient and efficient Digital Supply Network (DSN). Throughout this journey we leverage accelerators such as our proprietary capability maturity models based on the Digital Capability Model (DCM) and run a DSN Transformation Lab to accelerate meaningful results through one- to two-day interactive sessions tailored to address specific business challenges.

The DCM serves as a strategic compass to help an organisation understand where they are placed in comparison to similar organisations across all facets of the end-to-end supply chain. It's not merely a tool, but a roadmap for transforming a traditional linear supply chain into an agile Digital Supply Network (DSN), to meet the demands of the digital era. Leveraging DCM allows access to the organisation’s digital maturity across multiple dimensions, including connectivity, intelligence, scalability, and customisation. This approach enables the identification of strategic priorities and efficient resource allocation to set the foundation for a sustainable digital supply chain transformation.
