Every path, every stage: Deloitte’s support for fertility and pregnancy Loss

We acknowledge that accessing fertility treatment or trying to start a family can be emotionally and physically difficult, so we've created policies that support our people at every stage.

The path to parenthood is different for everyone.

For some, it’s straightforward; for others, it involves complex decisions, medical treatment, and, at times, unexpected loss. At Deloitte, we understand that supporting our people means recognising and responding to the full spectrum of experiences - not just the milestones, but the challenges along the way.

Our approach to reproductive health is built on flexibility, empathy, and practical support.

Support Through Fertility Treatments

If you’re undergoing fertility treatment -  whether it’s IVF, egg freezing, or IUI - Deloitte provides up to five days of paid fertility leave each year (pro-rated for part-time employees).

This time can be used for attending procedures, recovering from treatment, or managing side effects - without having to dip into your annual or sick leave.

We know how demanding fertility treatment can be, both physically and emotionally, and this leave is one way we aim to ease that burden.

If you’re supporting a partner or loved one undergoing fertility treatment, Deloitte’s Wellbeing Leave (Carer’s) or DeloitteFlex policy may be used - because supporting someone through this process matters too.

When Things Don’t Go as Planned: Miscarriage and Loss

Experiencing a pregnancy loss is incredibly difficult. Whether the loss is early or late in the pregnancy, Deloitte offers time, space, and support to help you begin to heal.

If you or your partner experiences a miscarriage, you can take up to 10 days of paid miscarriage leave per event, pro-rated for part-time employees. This leave can be used however you need - to rest, to grieve, to seek medical care, or simply to not have to explain what you're going through.

For cases of stillbirth, Deloitte provides up to 18 weeks of Paid Parental Leave, including three days of Compassionate Leave.
We also offer access to unlimited counselling and return to work support.

Creating a Safe Space to Talk and Be Heard

Reproductive health - including fertility struggles and pregnancy loss - has too often been kept in silence. At Deloitte, we’re working to change that. Through  open conversations, and resources available to all team members, we’re making it safe to speak up and seek support.

This includes:

  • Information toolkits for employees and leaders
  • Flexibility in how and when leave is taken
  • Opportunities to connect with others through initiatives like Menopause Cafés and reproductive health awareness campaigns

Support That Grows With Your Family

Our fertility and miscarriage leave policies are part of a broader commitment to family wellbeing at Deloitte - which includes:

  • 18 weeks Paid Parental Leave from day one of employment
  • Flexible leave arrangements that work around you
  • Return to Work Support Payments
  • Coaching sessions for new and returning parents

Because your career and your family plans should never be in conflict — and you shouldn’t have to choose between caring for your family for and your career growth.
