Starting or growing your family is one of the biggest moments in life - full of joy, change, and new responsibilities. And it shouldn’t mean pressing pause on your career if you don’t want it to.
At Deloitte, we’ve built our parental leave and support policies around a simple idea: you deserve to be supported at every stage of the journey, without compromise.
We recognise how important it is to support our people during this time, not just through leave, but by making sure they feel confident returning, staying connected, and progressing in their careers.
Whether you’re planning a family, expecting your first child, or returning to work after time away, our parental leave and family support policy is designed to meet you where you are.
Here’s how we support working parents at Deloitte - from day one.
From your first day at Deloitte, you have access to up to 18 weeks of Paid Parental Leave - no waiting periods, no tenure requirements for both Primary & Secondary caregivers. Whether you’re welcoming your child through birth, adoption, surrogacy, or permanent foster care, this time is yours to spend where it matters most.
You can take that time in a way that fits your family:
This flexibility gives you choice in how you structure your time away - because no two families or journeys to parenthood are the same.
It’s your leave, your way.
I took 14 months of parental leave after having twins. I never felt pressured to return earlier than I was physically and mentally able to do so. Upon my return, I was supported and mentored by multiple senior partners as I stepped back into client work.

Coming back to work after time away isn’t always easy.
That’s why we offer more than just time off - we invest in helping you to make your transition back to work as smooth as possible.
These benefits are a reassurance that you’re not expected to bounce back overnight and you’ll be supported as you navigate the challenges of balancing work and family life. At Deloiite we give you more room to do both.
Deloitte’s Return to Work support benefit means I am able to work for four days a week and continue to be paid full time. This flexibility has enabled me to transition back into work whilst still enjoying time with my baby girl.

Parental leave doesn’t have to mean disconnecting entirely. You have the option to take up to 10 paid Keeping in Touch Days to attend key meetings, planning sessions or trainings - and if you use them during Paid Parental Leave, they won’t cut into your leave time.
Meanwhile, your superannuation will continue to grow, not just on Paid Leave but also on up to 34 weeks of Unpaid Leave and while receiving the Return to Work Support Payment - because long-term security matters too.
Families are formed and grow in all kinds of ways - and we’ve made sure our policies reflect that.
Because becoming a parent is never just about logistics - it’s emotional, physical, and deeply personal. At Deloitte, we believe that care shouldn’t begin and end with the birth of a child but should be available every step of the journey.
Starting or growing your family shouldn’t come at the cost of your career - and at Deloitte, we’re proud to offer a parental leave policy that helps our people thrive at home and at work.
From your first day with us to your return from leave (and every moment in between), we’re here to make sure you feel empowered, respected, and supported.
Whether you're navigating fertility treatment, adjusting to life with a newborn, or figuring out how to make your return to work sustainable - you don't have to do it alone.
We’ll work with you to make it work.
