Named one of Australia's Top 10 Corporate Social Responsibility organisations in 2016 and 2017, our responsible business program enables Deloitte Australia to support our national community partners and make a positive impact through our daily, professional work.
Making a positive impact on our community is at the heart of the Deloitte culture. We strongly believe business has a responsibility to contribute to building positive, resilient communities.
We have stepped up our commitment to responsible business in the past year and made excellent progress across our focus areas of community engagement, diversity and inclusion.
The Deloitte Foundation is the cornerstone of our commitment to our community. We make an ongoing impact through the support of our four national community partners; Oxfam, High Resolves, Canteen and The Luke Batty Foundation. Our people also participate in Giving at Deloitte, raising funds for our 27 supported charities as well as providing mentoring, volunteering and disaster relief contributions.
We support non-profit and non-Governmental organisations to build their own capacity through pro bono work - we gave $7.25m in pro bono services in 2015/16. Our people are encouraged to give their time and expertise through a variety of initiatives including Impact Day and micro volunteering. Our annual Local Heroes awards recognise our people who make a substantial impact in their local communities.
In 2016, Deloitte launched our second ‘Innovate’ Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), which underpins our firm’s commitment to ‘walk together’ with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across Australia. We were also sponsors of the Social Innovation category in the 2016 Australian Good Design Awards.
