Empowering Anglicare’s Workforce

Supporting care through better HR

Within months of going live with Workday, Anglicare transformed the way it manages its workforce across its aged care operations. From recruitment and HR efficiency to workforce visibility, the new platform delivered measurable results for employees, leaders and the people Anglicare supports.

Only nine months post implementation, employee turnover was reduced to around 14%—a strong result in the aged care sector. Recruitment outcomes also improved dramatically, with average time to hire reduced from 42 days to just 13 days. In some cases, new hires are now completed in as little as six days, setting a new benchmark for the organisation. Anglicare is now working towards a consistent seven-day turnaround from job posting to contract offer—an ambition that was previously out of reach.

The impact extends well beyond faster hiring. With Workday in place, Anglicare’s HR team has shifted away from manual, paper-based administration and can now focus on higher-value work. The organisation eliminated 25 separate HR forms, simplifying processes and significantly improving data quality. Leaders now have clearer, more reliable workforce insights, enabling faster and better-informed decision-making.

Key HR processes have also been transformed. Salary review cycles that once took up to three months can now be completed in a matter of weeks. Employee engagement surveys—previously lengthy and resource-intensive—can now be deployed and analysed almost instantly. These efficiencies allow Anglicare to respond quickly to workforce needs and continuously improve the employee experience.

Anglicare selected Workday to move beyond a traditional HR system and unlock the value of data across the entire employee lifecycle. Workday’s integrated data model and robust position management capabilities aligned strongly with Anglicare’s vision for a modern, connected HR environment—one that supports insight-driven decision-making rather than simple record-keeping.

A key contributor to success was the close partnership between Anglicare, Deloitte and Workday. The teams worked collaboratively throughout the implementation, maintaining open communication and a shared focus on solving challenges as they arose. This approach ensured a smooth rollout and strong confidence in the solution from day one.

Beyond the metrics, the transformation represents a cultural shift. By removing manual barriers and increasing transparency, the new platform empowers employees to work more efficiently and stay focused on what matters most—delivering care and support to clients and residents. Staff are better connected, better informed and better supported in their roles.

This milestone marks an important step in Anglicare’s digital journey. Through the strategic adoption of Workday and strong partnerships, the organisation has strengthened its HR capabilities, improved employee engagement and reinforced its commitment to delivering high-quality care to the community.
