Yura is a Senior Associate Director in the Deloitte Actuarial and Insurance Solutions Team (AIS).
He is a qualified actuary with over 20 years of life insurance industry experience, with deep insights and understanding of an insurer’s reporting and regulatory processes. Utilising this experience, he was heavily involved in the firm’s IFRS 17 proposition from an actuarial perspective.
His key areas of expertise include statutory valuations and statutory audits (including internal audit), capital management, financial reporting and product pricing and development, due dilligences, SAM (including Iterative Risk Margin implementation) as well as IFRS 17 development and implementation. His experience includes entities outside of South Africa, including the UK, Mauritius, Botswana, Zambia and Kenya.
He is an accredited IFRS17 practitioner within Deloitte as well as an AWS accredited AI practitioner.
