Based in London, Philip has led the Deloitte Global Tax & Legal business since 1 June 2019. Prior to this, he was the Deloitte Global Business Tax leader for two years and led the Deloitte UK Business Tax practice for seven years, amongst other roles. He leads the Global Tax & Legal Executive and is a member of the Deloitte Global Executive. He has a Physics Bachelor of Science degree from Liverpool University, is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and is a member of the Institute of Tax.
Philip still loves serving clients and is aligned to the Deloitte UK M&A tax group in London. For nearly 20 years, Philip has focused on M&A tax, particularly on private equity, real estate and hedge funds. He has worked on some of the more significant, large and complex European transactions in recent years as well as supporting fund advisers. Most recently, he has taken on advisory roles to some of Deloitte’s more significant multinational corporate clients.
Prior to that, Philip gained varied experience having spent 13 years in regional UK offices and 17 years in London. During Philip’s time in the regions, he focused on inbound (US and Japanese) companies and smaller listed companies. Philip has a technical bias towards supply chain solutions and Treasury.
