Kevin Black

Kevin is renowned for his leadership and dedication, especially for fostering an inclusive environment where he empowers and amplifies the voices of his team members. His charisma, empathy, and communicative nature make him a respected figure in his field, while his pragmatic approach to problem-solving ensures effective outcomes.

Kevin is the current Chair of Deloitte Africa Board and Deloitte Africa Financial Services Industry Leader.

Having spent over 32 years in financial services and extractive industries, including 25 years as a Partner, Kevin has significant experience across audit and advisory services.

Kevin has held a variety of senior leadership and executive roles at Deloitte, including Africa firm Clients & Industries Leader and a member of the Deloitte Africa Executive Committee (ExCo). He was responsible for managing all regional offices in Southern Africa and led the PR, marketing, and knowledge management portfolios within the firm. Kevin represented the African firm on the Deloitte Global Clients and Industries Council with ExCo members from the 10 largest Deloitte member firms.

Kevin has a strong understanding of the African firm having been on the Africa ExCo during the firm's initial integration. He has worked extensively with European and North American firms during his time as Clients & Industries Leader and on several multinational bank audit bids.

He was the South African member firm's "YPAG" candidate in 2004, serving the African firms' largest clients both in audit and advisory capacities. In 1996 Kevin was selected from a global pool of technical managers to draft a Deloitte Audit curriculum in New York for Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu.

Kevin is Chartered Accountant (SA), with a Bachelor of Commerce (University of the Witwatersrand, 1991), Bachelor of Accounting (University of the Witwatersrand, 1992), and a Higher Diploma in Banking Law (RAU, 2000) cum laude.
