Ken Afrah

Ken joined the Deloitte Turnaround & Restructuring team in 2021, bringing eight years of experience in the UK restructuring market and a further two years in South Africa.

Ken is an experienced financial advisor and specialises in restructuring mandates for lenders, corporates and financial investors in troubled situations. He is passionate about finding consensual, successful outcomes that enhance value and protect jobs.

Ken has played a key role in providing successful outcomes for both lenders and corporates in a number of restructuring mandates. He has particular experience in contingency planning, business rescue, cash management and business reviews, with recent experience including:

• Advisor to the business rescue practitioners of South African Airways;
• Advisor to the business rescue practitioner of Limpopo Iron Ore (Pty) Ltd;
• Advisor to a large, listed cement manufacturer in relation to a distressed financial restructuring; and
• Advisor to a development finance institution in relation to a financial restructuring of their exposure in an automotive company.­­­­­­­­
