Gert Myburgh

Gert is a Partner within the Financial Services Advisory (FSA) division of the Deloitte Africa firm. He has 18 years of experience within the Financial Services domain. He leads the IFRS 9 audit support proposition and has experience across Retail, Business Banking, Commercial Property Finance and Sovereign portfolios.

Gert has assisted banking clients by providing audit and advisory services related to credit risk measurement and management from both a regulatory and an accounting perspective. He was involved in multiple IFRS 9 implementation advisory and training projects. This included amongst others, audit support services relating to IFRS 9 expected credit loss models, technical accounting advisory and interpretation, readiness assessments, roadmap development, impact studies, modelling methodologies and reporting.

Gert has a detailed understanding of Basel III (including forthcoming reforms) credit related regulatory requirements and how to practically embed these into business practices.
