A generative AI tool that enables the client to integrate disparate financial information into integrated reports and summaries. Large time-savings potential for teams responsible for reporting on financial and other goals in large multi-unit organizations.
The Norwegian Public Roads Administration is an agency under the Ministry of Transport. Its mission is to develop and facilitate an integrated and future-oriented transport system throughout the country, which promotes mobility, reduces traffic accidents, and contributes to the transition to a low-emission society.
As a public entity, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (NPRA) is required to submit quarterly and annual reports to the Ministry of Transport and Communication. This is a very time-consuming and resource-intensive process, where all the units' reports must be assessed and compiled into an overall report for the organization as a whole. This is time-consuming to both read and compile, due to large amounts of text and information that must be retrieved from several sources. Due to capacity, it is also not always possible to adequately assess and analyse developments from previous periods. The Norwegian Public Roads Administration therefore wanted to see how AI could help streamline the process.
Together with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, we have turned hundreds of pages of periodic reports into a searchable conversation—freeing up time for insight and analysis.

Deloitte collaborated with the NPRA in creating a data visualization app with AI features to simplify quarterly and annual reporting. The app combines a analytics dashboard with an AI-chatbot to generate text summaries, compile data, and create trend charts and tables for key performance indicators and strategic goals. Users can filter information by division or strategic goal, and built-in prompts guide them through common tasks. The app provides managers with a quick overview of the units' reports, e.g. when preparing for internal management meetings, and it also helps case officers streamline report review, perform quick lookups, and analyze and compile text for the agency's overall report.
The reduction in time spent on reading, compiling text, and searching for information will streamline the goal reporting process within the organisation. Consequently, time and resources can be redirected towards more value-adding activities, such as strategic analyses.
Key takeaways
Being part of the project helped us learn how to use generative artificial intelligence in our financial and goal-reporting activities, thereby making these more efficient.
