Ferd started as managing partner for Deloitte Legal in the Netherlands on 1 February 2023. He has more than 40 years of experience in the legal profession. He has worked as a partner in the Employment & Benefits practice at Allen & Overy, including 2 years as chairman of the board. From 2005-2017 Ferd was parttime Professor of European Employment Law at Maastricht University, as well as member of the Social Economic Council, appointed by the Crown. From October 2017 to January 2022, He served as Minister of Justice and Security in the Rutte III cabinet. At Deloitte he is responsible for the further development of the legal services of Deloitte Netherlands with a special emphasis on the public sector.
