The energy transition is in full swing, and much of the path towards 2035 has already been charted. However, there are still untapped opportunities that could contribute to a better outcome by 2035. The Dutch business sector must now take a more visible role in setting the course, as this will enable the government to facilitate more effectively.

Building the energy system of the future together

Gasunie and Deloitte are collaborating on the energy transition in the Netherlands by creating a new digital infrastructure. Gasunie, responsible for over 15,000 kilometres of energy infrastructure, is transforming into a data-driven organisation focused on hydrogen and CO₂ networks. With Deloitte as a strategic partner, Gasunie has opted for a greenfield approach, using SAP S/4HANA as the foundation. This partnership, characterised by direct communication and shared ownership, has resulted in the successful migration of millions of records and training for employees. The new infrastructure enables Gasunie to innovate more rapidly and integrate new technologies, with a focus on sustainable change.
