Deloitte Mauritius appoints Hannish Charitar as Partner in our Audit & Assurance practice

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Hannish Charitar as Partner, Audit & Assurance, Deloitte, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to delivering exceptional audit and assurance services to financial institutions, multinational groups and listed entities across Mauritius and the region. This appointment reflects our continued investment in strengthening our Audit & Assurance practice and supporting clients in navigating an increasingly complex regulatory and business environment. Hannish’s elevation recognises his outstanding contribution to the firm, deep technical expertise and strong leadership in serving some of the region’s most prominent financial institutions.

Hannish has over 13 years of audit and assurance experience across Mauritius, Madagascar and Seychelles. He specialises in the financial services sector, having led the audits of more than 20 banks, leasing companies, non-bank deposit-taking institutions (NBDTIs) and listed entities. Through these engagements, he has built deep expertise in financial regulation, risk management, corporate governance and prudential reporting.

Beyond client service, Hannish is deeply committed to developing the next generation of professionals. As Audit Talent Coordinator, he plays a key role in attracting, developing and retaining audit talent within the firm. He is actively involved in campus recruitment initiatives and university engagement programmes, representing Deloitte Mauritius at career fairs, recruitment events and student outreach activities.

Hannish is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and the Mauritius Institute of Professional Accountants (MIPA). He holds a BSc (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from the University of Bristol, United Kingdom.
