Innovation for Industry Scheme

Xjenza Malta has recently launched the Innovation for Industry Scheme (I4I) to support applied, industrial research and development initiatives by the private sector.

Financial support will be provided for incremental product or process improvement, which will lead to measurable technical innovation, and which will have a tangible impact on the organisation’s competitiveness and long-term value.

The I4I scheme also includes options to incorporate industry-academia collaboration within the project to address specific industrial challenges.

The maximum grant amount is Eur150,000, with the application process available under both the GBER and de minimis state aid regimes. The aid intensity ranges from up to 75% to up to 90%.

The application deadline is 18 May 2026 and supported projects must start by at least 1 September 2026 or as otherwise stated by the Managing Authority.
