Malta Enterprise has launched the Circular Return Infrastructure Grant Scheme (the “Scheme”), aimed at supporting wholesalers and retailers in investing in reverse vending machines (“RVMs”) and comparable automated take-back solutions to facilitate the recovery of materials for recycling and reuse.

Eligible costs under the scheme include:

  • Purchase (or finance lease) of new automated RVM units;
  • Installation and commissioning costs (including delivery, positioning, calibration, initial testing and acceptance);
  • ICT and software required for operation and reporting.

The aid is provided in the form of a cash grant capped at EUR 300,000 (subject to overall de minimis capping), with an aid intensity 50% of the eligible costs.

The deadline for submission of application is 31 August 2027.
