Gianluca joined Deloitte Malta in October 2019, having previously worked at a Maltese law firm specialising in corporate and contractual law. He obtained his Master of Advocacy in 2018, and a Professional Award in Taxation issued by the Malta Institute of Taxation in 2020. His key areas of interest include corporate and insolvency law, gaming law and regulation, data privacy, and intellectual property law, whilst also harbouring a keen interest in the regulation of emerging technologies such as AI and digital services. Since joining Deloitte, Gianluca has been involved in a considerable number of high-profile client engagements, including the formulation of regulatory policy and related work pertaining to the transposition of EU Directives into Maltese law, the reform of the Maltese insolvency regulatory framework in order to align with international standards of best practice, risk-based analyses of the Maltese gaming ecosystem, and other work in the sectors of AML/CFT and corporate re-structuring.

Antonio is a senior manager within Deloitte’s Strategy, Risk & Transactions Advisory business where he specialises in business and IP valuations and assist clients within a broad range of industries, including technology, consumer, life science & health care and financial services. Chris joined Deloitte Malta in September 2012, as part of the firm’s ACCA programme. He obtained his ACCA qualification in 2015 and the Advanced Diploma in International Taxation in 2019. Chris is currently a Senior Manager in Deloitte Malta’s Tax business and is heavily involved in transactions involving intellectual property. Chris currently specialises on mergers and acquisitions transactions as well as tax advisory engagements and has been involved in a significant number of high-profile acquisitions and operational restructuring transactions.

Thomas Zammit
Assistant Manager - Audit & Assurance - Deloitte Malta
Thomas began his journey with Deloitte in 2014 as a student in the Deloitte Pathway Programme. After completing his Master’s degree in Accountancy from the University of Malta, he joined Deloitte Malta’s Audit service line, gaining valuable experience leading engagements across the financial services sector, including insurance, asset management, and pensions.
He later advanced into the role of technical IFRS specialist within Deloitte’s Assurance service line. In this role, he has advised on complex transactions under IFRS and GAPSME, delivered training on accounting standards, authored technical memos, and supported insurance undertakings in their transition to IFRS 17. His expertise includes preparing financial statements in line with IFRS, GAPSME, and IFRS 17 requirements.
In 2023, Thomas was seconded to New Zealand with the Auditor-General’s office, contributing to public sector audits of city and district councils. He is also currently supporting innovation within the finance function, helping clients apply technologies such as generative AI and automation to strengthen financial reporting and operational efficiency.
