Meet Antoine, a returned Alumni
Hi Antoine! Can you walk us through your career at Deloitte so far?
I joined Deloitte on 2 January 2006 after spending around 6 years working in Finance & Operations in the Shipping and Retail industries, whilst at the same time studying for my ACCA accreditation. At Deloitte, I had the opportunity to work on a large number of audit clients operating in various industries and geographies and met a lot of people with diverse background and experiences.
What was your first role and what are you up to now?
I joined Deloitte as a Senior 2. I now hold the position of Audit & Assurance Director, responsible for a number of audit engagements of clients operating in various industries both locally and outside Malta. Apart from working on audit engagements, I am also the Audit Learning Leader for the Audit Business at Deloitte Malta.
What was your experience like returning to Deloitte?
Returning to Deloitte felt like coming home. My experience here has significantly shaped by identity, influencing both my professional growth and also personal development. Aside from a few new faces, it was as if I had never left.
What do you believe makes Deloitte stand out from other organisations as a place to work?
The work environment is filled with camaraderie, providing a sense of peace knowing that support is always available from those around you.
What are some of your favourite parts of working for Deloitte?
Meeting new people, both internally but also new clients. Navigating through new challenges knowing that you the support of the people around you. Making new experiences, both professionally and on a personal level.
What are you most looking forward to about your career at Deloitte?
Being an integral part of firm’s aspirations and actively contributing to its journey is a truly rewarding experience.
What would you say to someone considering re-joining Deloitte?
Don’t hesitate! I firmly believe that at Deloitte, no two days are the same. It’s a continuous journey of learning and development and Deloitte provides ample opportunities for growth.
