Deloitte signs MoU with Cyber Security Council to advance the cyber security agenda in the UAE

23 March, 2022 - Deloitte and the Cyber Security Council (CSC) have signed  Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to engage in collaborative activities supporting the Cyber Security agenda in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The MoU will enable Deloitte and CSC to collaborate and leverage Deloitte’s expertise and experience in UAE  Cyber Security, while drawing on internationally recognized good-industry practices to support the UAE Cyber Security agenda.

Such collaboration is not only limited to building capability within the UAE, but also expands internationally to embrace global cooperation and extend support to other countries as they come together to combat cyber threats.

As part of the MoU, Deloitte will support CSC with CERT guidelines, cyber trainings, Cyber Security strategy as well as establish a child online protection framework, among others.

“Our collaboration with Deloitte is a joint effort to create and build local Cyber Security capabilities and talent to support the UAE ‘Projects of the 50’ initiative, and signals our commitment to a secure digital transformation and a knowledge economy,” said H.E. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE government. “We want to ensure that Cyber Security grows into a thriving and sustainable sector within the national economy for decades to come."

The MoU was signed by H.E. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE government and Tariq Ajmal, Cyber Leader at Deloitte Middle East, during the GISEC event where Deloitte participated in the Bug Bounty Contest led by the Cyber Security Council.

“Our Cybersecurity team in the region brings forth a wide array of experience and industry knowledge, backed by the global Deloitte network and we have worked with a multitude of public and private sector entities in the Middle East in supporting them to develop and mature their cybersecurity defenses and
strategies. We look forward to working with the CSC in bringing their vision to
life,” said Ajmal.
