United by diversity: Creating a place where everyone feels welcome

Ensuring that every employee feels comfortable coming to work as their authentic self is our daily standard, and it is a core value of our organisation.

It takes a little extra organisation, however, to make sure we celebrate and honour the diversity of our people in the way that is deserved.

Diversity Day


One such event is our Diversity Day Celebration. Held annually in May, it gives us the chance to showcase our various DE&I initiatives alongside a celebration of the diverse cultures that shape our workforce. Our Working Parents Program, GLOBE network, and Women in/to Leadership initiative held workshops to promote their purpose and recruit new members. Additionally, nearly 50 colleagues from 22 countries (representing five different continents) set up tables where they sold their favorite dishes from their home country.

With 300 people purchasing tickets to enjoy these international cuisines, this year, we were able to raise €2,155 in funds for the Deloitte Foundation.”* And the cherry on top? For the second time, these diverse recipes were captured in an international cookbook shared with the firm.

*These funds will be represented in the Deloitte Foundation’s fiscal year 2025 budget.

PRIDE
 

An inclusive work environment also means leading the way in the broader community. For the third consecutive year, Deloitte Luxembourg participated in the Lux Pride Parade in Esch, with enthusiastic participation from 70+ colleagues and friends. Our Pride didn't end there; we also hosted a Pride After Party that connected staff, families, and friends in a joyful celebration of acceptance and unity.

This year also marked our first time participating in the Lux Pride Run. With representation from both GLOBE and our running club, we had 31 Deloitte professionals hitting the pavement in the name of advancing Pride.

Creating an environment that genuinely welcomes and celebrates diversity is not a box to check, but a constant ambition. We’re proud to continuously strengthen our engagement both within and outside Deloitte walls, and we hope to inspire others to do the same.
