Deloitte’s pro-bono support: Strengthening community, one service at a time

As a firm, Deloitte Luxembourg further supports the mission of the Deloitte Foundation through pro-bono work. Pro-bono work also offers our professionals the opportunity to use their skills to further our community impact. This work, undertaken by the firm Deloitte Luxembourg, is first reviewed by the Foundation’s Board of Directors to ensure that it is aligned to the Foundation’s program of philanthropic contributions and actions.
During FY24, Deloitte supported the NGO, UNICEF, with a regulatory compliance audit and sustainability trainings, in addition to volunteering technical skills to a local financial market player that wanted to launch a new corporate social responsibility initiative. Through both initiatives, Deloitte helped reinforce not only the operational integrity and cyber resilience of these organizations respectively, but also the ever-important spirit of service to community.
GDPR and internal HR audit at UNICEF Luxembourg
Last year, Deloitte dedicated significant efforts to support UNICEF with their General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance and HR internal audits. Seven specialists worked diligently to contribute a total of 205.25 hours to help bolster UNICEF’s data privacy controls and compliance with regulatory requirements.
In addition to these audits, Deloitte also led two sustainability workshops for the organisation. The first session focused on the importance of corporate social responsibility within the broader context of climate change; the second session dove into more detail, addressing related regulatory requirements and ways to measure environmental, social, and governance (ESG) targets.
Greybox penetration testing of a corporate social responsibility web application
Greybox penetration testing is a security assessment where testers have a mix of internal and external insights into the security of the applications, networks, and operating systems. This combination of insights better simulates “real-world” security scenarios, enabling the testing team to swiftly identify vulnerabilities that a typical malicious hacker might exploit.
One local market player leveraged Deloitte Luxembourg’s Offensive Security practice to confirm that their new CSR application was secure for roll out. Designed to facilitate corporate volunteerism, this web application connects business professionals with local NGOs that could benefit from their time and expertise.
