Problem

  • The ERP system being used by the client was implemented over twelve years ago. In the legacy system the different departments were not integrated with each other. The client wanted a single system to achieve greater efficiency, cost savings, and better quality.
  • In the legacy system there was no direct insight into the total supply chain and daily processes like production, inventory, sales, etc. and they had to manually update most of their data in the legacy system/consolidations in excel, etc.

Solution

Implemented S/4 HANA public cloud which acts as an integrated system across all the departments and their data entries are getting updated automatically.

Impact

  • The client was determined to shed legacy systems and move core business processes to the cloud using the SAP S/4HANA public cloud platform. In doing so, the client aimed to leverage cloud capabilities to improve technical and operational agility, enhance real-time visibility across the business, harmonise data, improve reporting, and enable future growth and innovation.
  • All units work according to the same processes through one integrated system.
  • Thus, they have a single source of truth for all units, which can be used to analyse data from all production and inventory locations in real time.
  • The client saves considerably on IT costs because the company uses a cloud solution. The maintenance of the system is therefore easier, and it is automatically provided with the latest updates.
