This is one of the first complete manufacturing cloud solution implementations in India. Deloitte Indiawas engaged to remediate their heavily delayed digital and finance transformation programme, which was implementing Oracle cloud fusion ERP financials and manufacturing cloud. Our cross-functional approach ensured that people, processes, and systems were considered, delivering on theirstrategic goals for scalability, digitalisation, efficiency, and standardisation.

Oracle solution(s)

  • Oracle cloud ERP financials
  • Oracle manufacturing and supply chain cloud
  • Oracle transportation management cloud
  • Oracle OIC and VBCS (PaaS)

Business challenges

  • Our client was operating on heavily customised independent home-grown legacy ERP business applications for back-office, financials, and supply chain operations. All these custom solutions were developed as per IMFA requirement without following industry standards and global standard operating procedures, leading to lot of audit questions. They were dealing with limited documentation of processes and operating models and their additional system did not support modern analytics, reporting, and audit requirements.
  • Maintaining real-time visibility and traceability across the supply chain, from raw material sourcing to product manufacturing, was a real challenge in existing legacy system, which led them to experiencing unoptimised inventory levels and increased lead times.
  • Costing was completely manual.

The impact of Deloitte India’s solutions

  • Our client now has a robust and integrated Oracle cloud ERP, covering 18 modules, 300+ integrations, 12+ PaaS extensions forms, and 50+ custom reports.
  • The outcome of the ERP cloud transformation has successfully delivered broad benefits to the business, including an automated and integrated modern cloud SaaS application that reduced significant manual overheads, optimised automated approval workflows, enhanced customer experience through real-time stock availability, dramatically improved month-end costing processes using standard best practices, and streamlined financial systems into a single and reliable source of truth.

Impact

  • Standard procurement requisition, RFQ, and purchase order approvals to meet their cross-functional and operating needs, including legal requirements.
  • Real-time item stock and data availability solution to drive accurate strategic and management decision-making.
  • Streamlined chart of accounts design and structure to cater to all their business finance and strategic and audit requirements, making it future-ready and scalable.
  • Considerable savings on procurement and logistic costing with the implementation of procurement and OTM cloud products.
  • Seamless end-to-end solution with correct accounting and reporting.
  • Complex cost accounting rules/solutions to facilitate multi-business transactions and streamline month-end processes.
